Cheer

Welcome to Ramblers Cheer!

Thank you for your interest in the Enfield Ramblers Cheer Program!

Welcome to the Ramblers Cheer Program, where passion meets precision and teamwork is our cornerstone. Our program is dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, athleticism, and confidence-building.

As Ramblers, we prioritize teamwork above all else, recognizing that each member plays a crucial role in our collective success. Through synchronized routines and collaborative practices, we cultivate a sense of unity that transcends individual efforts.

Tumbling and stunt progression are at the heart of our training regimen. We believe in pushing boundaries and achieving new heights, both figuratively and literally. Our coaches are committed to providing instruction and support to help each athlete master their skills and reach their full potential.

Confidence is key on and off the mat. Through training and positive reinforcement, we empower our athletes to believe in themselves and their abilities. Whether it's nailing a difficult stunt or performing in front of a crowd, our program instills the self-assurance needed to excel in any situation.

Join us at Ramblers Cheer Program and become part of a community that celebrates dedication, determination, and the thrill of victory.

FAQ

Is there a deadline to register?

We usually shut down registration about 2-4 weeks into the season. If you register after the season has started, your child will be expected to complete a week of conditioning before being able to participate in cheers, tumbles, and stunts per league rules.

Does my child need any prior experience?

No, our team is open to all experience levels. Our main goal is for our cheerleaders to learn the importance of teamwork, foster physical activity, and have fun!

What gear will my child need to participate?

Uniforms and practice equipment are provided by the team. We ask that all cheerleaders wear comfortable, athletic clothing and sneakers and bring a water bottle. All hair should be out of their face.

What will they learn?

You can expect your cheerleader to have learned a halftime routine and a competition routine during the season. New cheerleaders will also learn our sideline cheers. Starting in the 2024 season, we will have progressive tumbling dependent on age. We only encourage their growth with the sport and do not penalize them for not meeting any physical goals.

What do practices look like?

Cheerleaders practice on the track at the Town Annex (Formally known as the Fermi High School). We start off all practices by stretching, then move on to cheers, tumbling, and stunts. This season will be focusing more on the endurance needed for competition by working towards running goals rather than running laps like prior years..

From the beginning of the season, to the start of the school year, our practices are Monday through Friday, changing to Tuesday through Thursday once school starts. For our older teams, practice is 6pm-8pm, our younger teams, 6pm-7:30pm.

Is practice mandatory?

While practice is not mandatory, it is beneficial to both the individual and the team for majority attendance. The two weeks prior to competition, practice is mandatory as set by our league. Cheerleaders are expected to make practice Monday through Friday, 6pm – 8pm during this time.

We understand that Cheerleading might not be your child’s only sport. We do our best to accommodate this and ask that you reach out to the coach of your child’s team on how everyone can succeed.

Do we cheer/practice in all weather?

Yes! The only exception being lightning. We have cheered in rain, sun, and snow!

When it becomes closer to competition, we do move our practices inside for the safety of the cheerleaders. Parents are not allowed in the indoor practice areas.

Do I need to stay while my child is practicing?

We do ask that someone who is able to make medical decisions for your child be at every practice given the nature of the sport. Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay nearby and walk the track, walk the grounds, stay in their cars, or enjoy watching their children from the stands.

We do not allow parents in our practice area and ask that parents refrain from distracting the cheerleaders.

How do we foster teamwork?

This year, we will be making strides to better foster our teamwork. We will be having fun events for the kids to participate in and setting aside time each week for team games.

Tell me more about competition!

Every year, all cheerleading teams meet for competition hosted by one of the competing teams. This is our time to showcase the progress our team has made throughout the season. Generally, A and D team perform in one sitting, followed by B and C team in the afternoon. While there is no cost for the cheerleaders to compete, you will have to purchase tickets to attend.

How do we communicate as a team?

In general, we use the platform Crossbar for all practice/game schedules and communication. If there is ever a time when you need to directly speak with a coach, they make their contact information available at the beginning of the season. We only ask that if you need to speak with a coach, you do so before or after practice.
